Marwah Coolers

Over in Subhash Nagar Tihar Village at WZ-109, you will find Marwah Coolers. This is a place that really comes to life when the heat starts hitting Delhi in April. We make and sell those big metal desert coolers that people rely on. The workshop is full of the sound of metal being cut and the smell of fresh paint. We spend our days welding frames, fitting motors, and making sure the water pumps are working right. It’s a very seasonal kind of life. In the winter, we are mostly doing repairs or getting stock ready, but once the sun gets hot, the shop at WZ-109 gets packed with people looking for a bit of relief. We use heavy-duty fans and thick cooling pads because that’s what actually works when it’s forty-five degrees outside. My clothes usually have a bit of silver paint on them from touching up the cooler bodies. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just build the coolers, sell them, and help people out when their old ones start making a rattling noise. It’s a local business through and through. The floor of the shop is usually covered in metal scraps and wood wool. It’s a lot of manual labor, but seeing a cooler finally hum into life and blow cold air makes the long hours in the heat worth it for us and the people in the neighborhood who just want to sleep better.
