Lachhman Das & Co

Lachhman Das & Co has been located at 3600 Chawri Bazar for a very long time. If you know this area, you know how crowded and hectic it can get with all the rickshaws and people moving about. Our shop is right in the thick of it. It’s an old building, like most of the structures in this part of the city. Inside, we have stacks of materials and old ledgers from years of doing business. We aren't a modern office with glass walls or air conditioning. It’s a traditional setup where we sit on the floor or on small stools to talk to our customers. Most of the people who come to us have been doing business with our family for generations. We know everyone on this street and they know us. The pace in Chawri Bazar is fast and sometimes it feels like there is never enough room, but we’ve managed to work out of this spot at 3600 without many issues. We deal with whatever comes our way, from small orders to larger ones that require some heavy lifting through the narrow lanes. It’s a lot of work and the noise from the market never really stops until late at night. We don't use any fancy systems to track things, just our old notebooks and years of experience. This shop is our second home and we’re proud to be part of the history of this market.
