K L Sales is out here in Alipur, right on Khasra No.101. If you know where Raj Dharm Kata is, we are pretty much right near there. We’re located on that lane everyone calls Theke Waali Gali. It’s a busy spot with trucks and people moving things all day long. We deal in sales, mostly bulk stuff that people in the trade need for their own work. The shop is busy from the time we open in the morning. Sometimes it’s a bit dusty because of the road outside, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We don’t have any big corporate slogans or anything. We just sell what’s in stock. My cousin helps out sometimes, and we have a few guys for loading and unloading. It’s a simple business. We keep track of everything in a big ledger mostly. People come by, ask for prices, and we see what we can do for them. It’s not the kind of place where you sit down for tea usually, because there’s always something to move or someone waiting. We’ve been in this Alipur location for a while now. The lane gets tight when the big vehicles come through, so it’s always a bit of a scramble to keep the path clear. We just try to keep the stock moving and make sure people get what they paid for. It’s honest work. Nothing more to it than that. We just stay focused on the day's tasks.
