We’ve been here at Nehru Place 612 A for quite some time now. Most people know this area for all the computer shops and the constant crowd, but we’re tucked away in our spot focusing on the internet side of things across the country. It’s not a fancy setup. We spend most of our mornings answering emails and dealing with the various issues that come up when you’re trying to coordinate between different internet service providers. There’s a lot of paperwork involved, more than you’d think. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks down and that’s a bigger disaster than a server issue for us. We don’t really do big speeches or fancy presentations. We just get through the pile of work on our desks. The office has that lived-in feel with stacks of documents and old files that probably need sorting one day. It’s a bit noisy outside with all the traffic and people shouting, but inside we just keep at it. Working in this industry means things are always changing, but our daily routine stays pretty much the same. We take our lunch breaks together when we can. It’s just a group of people trying to keep things moving in the background so the internet stays up for everyone else. Sometimes it’s stressful, other times it’s just quiet work. That’s how it goes here at the association. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years.
