Hama Handicrafts

Our shop, Hama Handicrafts, is tucked away at Plot No.461 near Sheetla Gate in Chawri Bazar. If you know Chandni Chowk, you know how crowded it gets around here. We are quite close to Jama Masjid, so there is always a lot of noise and people walking by. It’s a very old part of the city. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time now. The building is old and the stairs are a bit narrow, but it works for what we do. We mostly deal with traditional items that people have been making in this area for generations. It’s not a polished showroom like you see in the malls. We have things piled up on shelves and sometimes in the corners. Dust is just part of life here in the market. My family helps me run things, and we usually have tea together in the afternoons when it’s a bit slower. We don't really do much advertising or have a big website. Most people find us because they were already visiting the mosque or someone told them about us. It’s a simple business. We open early and stay until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. The street is always full of rickshaws and carts, so getting things in and out can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. But this is our home and where we work every single day.
