Ess Kay Enterprises

Ess Kay Enterprises is right in the middle of the bustle at Shop No. 13-14 in the New Jain Market. If you’ve ever been to Shanti Mohala in Gandhi Nagar, you know how crowded it gets. There are people everywhere and heaps of stock being moved around constantly. We’ve got two shops side by side, which gives us enough room to keep everything organized, or at least as organized as you can be in a market like this. Most of our day is spent dealing with traders and customers who know exactly what they want. We don't have much time for small talk when it's busy. The heat in the summer can be a bit much, but we have a couple of fans going to keep things moving. We handle a lot of different items here. It’s mostly wholesale stuff, so we’re always counting things out and packing them into bags. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting boxes and moving things from the back to the front. We’ve known the other shop owners on this street for years. It’s like a little community. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. The shelves are full, and that's what matters. We just keep track of what's coming in and what's going out. It’s how we’ve always done it. If you find your way through the narrow lanes, you'll see us there. We usually have a bit of a snack in the late afternoon while we tally the bills.
