If you have ever been to Ansari Road, you know how crowded it gets with all the book shops and people rushing around. We are right there near the PNB bank. It’s a busy spot. We spend most of our mornings opening heavy boxes and stacking books on the shelves. Sometimes the piles get so high you can’t see the walls. We handle a lot of different titles and send them out to shops or people who need them. Darya Ganj has this specific smell of old paper and dust that you just get used to after a few years. It’s not a quiet place at all. There is always someone coming in asking for a specific book or a delivery guy trying to find where to park his scooter. We’ve been in this building for quite a bit. It’s an old area with lots of history in the publishing trade. Sometimes the electricity goes out or the rain makes the street a mess, but we keep going anyway. We don't really do fancy displays. Most of the space is just for storage and packing. It’s a lot of lifting and writing down orders by hand sometimes. We know the neighbors and the tea stall nearby. It’s just a normal day-to-day business where we try to get the books where they need to go without too much fuss. You just look for the bank and we are close by. It’s a noisy street but we like the energy.
