Kgn Trading

Kgn Trading is right in the heart of Katra Dhobian in Daryaganj. If you know Daryaganj, you know how packed and narrow these streets are. Our place is basically a storage unit and a small counter where we handle the sales. We deal in various commodities and materials that traders in the market need. The air is always full of the sounds of the market—people shouting, carts rolling by, and the smell of old buildings. We don't have much room for anything extra, so we have to be very careful about how we stack the bags and boxes. It’s a lot of physical work, moving stuff in and out of the Katra. We don’t have air conditioning or anything like that. We just have a couple of ceiling fans that have seen better days. Most of our customers are regular traders who have been coming to this market for decades. We talk about the news, have some tea, and then get down to the business of the day. It’s an old-fashioned way of working, but it works for us. We don’t try to be something we’re not. We just buy, sell, and make sure the accounts are more or less correct at the end of the month. It’s a busy life in a historic part of town where everyone knows everyone else.
