Our place is at 132, Pocket B8 in Delhi. It’s a standard industrial and commercial pocket, so the whole area is filled with similar offices and small warehouses. The building we are in is quite plain on the outside, but it serves its purpose for Chemline India Ltd. We’ve been at this address for a long time, and the inside reflects that—it’s full of folders, old ledgers, and desks that have been around for years. We don’t really go for a modern look; we just need a space that works. The street outside can get pretty crowded with delivery vans and people moving goods back and forth, especially in the mornings. Inside the office, it’s a mix of different sounds—the hum of the computers, people talking on the phone, and the sound of the ceiling fans. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea, which is where most of us catch up during the day. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy lounge chairs or glass partitions. It’s a very straightforward environment where we focus on the day’s tasks. We have a lot of paperwork to deal with, and there’s always a list of things that need to be checked or sent out. It’s a steady place to work, and we all know our roles. We just come in, do the work that needs doing, and try to keep things as orderly as possible in this busy pocket.
