The Punjab Spectacles Company

The Punjab Spectacles Company is located right at No. 1458 Fountain in Chandni Chowk. If you have ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how crowded and loud the streets get. Our shop is tucked away in the middle of all that noise. We have been here for a long time, and the building shows its age, but it serves us well. We mostly deal with spectacles and frames. People bring in their prescriptions from the doctors, and we help them find a pair that fits their face. The shelves are lined with different styles, some from years ago and some that are more modern. It is a small space, so things can get a bit cramped when there are more than two or three customers inside. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that hum all day. My father used to sit at the same wooden desk where I sit now. We keep our records in thick handwritten registers because that is how we have always done it. Outside, the traffic near the fountain never seems to stop. You can hear the rickshaws and the people shouting throughout the day. We don’t do any big advertising or have a website. People just find us because they know we have been at this spot for decades. It is a simple business, and we just try to get the lenses right for everyone.
