New Horizons Computer Learning Center

Our office is situated in the South Wing of NBCC Place, right across from the Sai Baba Mandir on Bhishmah Pitamah Marg. It’s a very busy part of New Delhi, and finding a parking spot can be a real headache sometimes. We have a bunch of computers set up inside for people to use while they are learning different programs and systems. The hum of the cooling fans is basically the background music of our day. It’s a bit of a walk to get to the Upper Ground Floor, but once you’re here, it’s a focused environment. We see students coming in at all hours, some early in the morning and some much later after they finish their regular jobs. The space isn’t overly decorated; it’s mostly just rows of monitors and chairs. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting tech issues or showing someone where to click on a screen. Delhi heat can be brutal, so we are grateful for the air conditioning in the building. It’s an honest living, helping people get a handle on computers. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the folks who come here feel like they actually learned something useful by the time they leave. There is a lot of paperwork involved in running a center like this, so our desks are usually covered in files and registration forms. It gets a bit hectic when a new batch starts, but we manage to keep things moving.
