Tilak Bazar is a crowded place, and we are right in the middle of it at Khari Baoli. If you know the area, you know how the lanes are. Our place is Plot No. 772/14. It’s an old building, like most things around here. We deal with chemicals and stuff like that. The smell of the market is a mix of everything—spices from Khari Baoli and the industrial scents from our side. It’s not the cleanest or quietest place to work, but it’s where the business happens. We spend a lot of time checking stocks and talking to suppliers who come through the narrow streets. It’s a struggle to get big trucks in here, so we do a lot of unloading by hand. The office is small and usually has stacks of ledgers piled up. We’ve been here for years, so we know most of the people on the block. It’s a community, even if it looks like chaos to someone visiting for the first time. We drink a lot of chai while waiting for deliveries. There’s no air conditioning, just some old fans that hum all day. We keep it simple. People come to us because they know we’re here and we know our products. It’s just how things work in Tilak Bazar. We open up early and close when the market starts to wind down. It's been like this for as long as I can remember.
