Our studio is located at 251 Dariba Kalan, right in the heart of Chandni Chowk. If you know the area, you know it’s famous for silver and jewelry, but we’ve carved out our own little corner here. The lanes are narrow, and sometimes you have to dodge a rickshaw or two just to get to our door. It’s a small space, but we’ve managed to fit in all the equipment we need. The walls are covered with some of the work we’ve done over the years, though they’re a bit dusty now. We don’t really have a lobby or a waiting room; people just come right in and we start talking about what they need. It’s often loud outside with the shouting of vendors and the bell of the temple nearby, but that’s just the life of Old Delhi. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t even notice the chaos anymore. We started this place because we wanted a spot of our own to work on our projects. It’s not a big corporate studio with dozens of employees. It’s just us, working on our cameras and computers, trying to make things look good. We usually grab some parathas or sweets from the nearby shops for lunch. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have more than a couple of people inside, but we make it work. It feels like home to us.
