Parvez Refrigeration Works

Parvez Refrigeration Works is situated at 107 Saharanpur Road. This part of Dehradun, around Sewla Kalan and Majra, is always humming with activity. You can usually find us surrounded by tools and spare parts for fridges. The shop floor is often covered with metal shavings or old copper tubing because there is always something being taken apart or put back together. It’s a hardworking environment and we don’t worry too much about keeping things looking like a showroom. The main thing is the work. Saharanpur Road is a major stretch, so there is a lot of noise from the trucks and buses passing by all the time. It gets quite dusty, especially in the summer months. We have our regular customers from the neighborhood who drop by to ask about repairs or just to see if we have a specific part in stock. The sign for Parvez Refrigeration Works has been there for a while and it’s a bit weathered by the sun. Inside, the shelves are heavy with compressors and coils. We know exactly where everything is, even if it looks a bit cluttered to someone else. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just sit outside on the stools and wait for it to come back. It’s a simple life and a simple business.
