If you go down to Moti Bazar and look for number 51, you’ll find Jai Luxmi Trading Co. It’s a very old market, so the streets are narrow and always full of people. Our shop isn't very big, but we pack a lot into it. We’ve been trading here for a long time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers on the street. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone. We deal in all sorts of goods, depending on what the market needs. Most of our day is spent talking to customers and sorting through stock. It gets very crowded during the festival seasons, and sometimes it’s hard to even walk through the door. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just do business face-to-face. It’s how we’ve always done it. We keep our records in big handwritten books mostly. There’s a lot of shouting and haggling in the bazaar, and we’re part of that noise. It’s a bit tired-looking inside, with peeling paint on the walls, but it’s our space. We don't need a fancy showroom to do what we do. We just open up in the morning, set out our wares, and wait for the first customer. It’s a simple life in a busy market. We like being right in the thick of things. Some days are long, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Moti Bazar is where we belong.
