Prateek Photography

I set up Prateek Photography in Garhi Cantt because I’ve lived around here for most of my life. It’s a quiet enough area, and people usually find me by word of mouth or by just walking past the sign. I spend most of my time behind the lens, obviously, but there is also a lot of sitting around at a desk trying to fix the colors on photos. I do weddings, birthdays, and those little passport photos people always need for their IDs. My studio isn’t huge, but I’ve got enough backdrops and some lights that I’ve fixed up over the years. Sometimes the camera battery dies right at the wrong moment, which is annoying, but I always keep a spare in my pocket. I’m not one of those photographers who uses a lot of fancy words or tries to act like an artist. I just like capturing how people look when they’re happy or even just when they’re standing still for a minute. Garhi Cantt has some nice spots for outdoor shots too, if the weather behaves. A lot of my customers are neighbors or families I’ve known since I was a kid. It’s nice to be part of the community that way. I keep my gear in old padded bags and try to keep the dust off the lenses, which is a never-ending job. It’s a simple setup, just me and my camera doing what we can.
