G. G. Cart

I've been working here at G. G. Cart for a while now. Our place is tucked away in Chankyapuri lane No. 1, right near Bangali Kothi. If you know Doon University Road, you know how busy it gets around here during the day. Most mornings start with me opening the shutters and sweeping the front bit of the shop because the dust just settles everywhere overnight. It’s a small spot but we make it work. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat about the weather or the traffic on the main road. We don't really have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just us and the shelves. I spend a lot of my time organizing boxes or checking what we have left in the back room. People find us mostly because they live nearby or they're heading toward the university and realized they needed something. It gets quiet in the afternoons when the sun is high, so I usually sit by the fan and catch up on some paperwork that’s been piling up on the desk. The lane isn't very wide, so when a big car comes through, everyone has to tuck in a bit. It’s just how things are around here. We’ve been in this spot for a bit, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. Nothing fancy, just a regular shop doing what we do every day.
