Up here at Rokeby Manor Hotel, you’ll find us. We’re Emilys, tucked away in Landour Cantonment in Mussoorie. The pin code is 248179. It’s a bit of a climb to get up here, but the air is always cooler than down in the valley. We’ve been part of this hotel for a long time. It’s an old building, so it has its quirks, like floors that creak sometimes and windows that rattle when the wind picks up. We just try to keep things simple. People come in from their walks around the cantonment and sit for a bit to rest. It’s quiet most days, which is how we like it. We don’t do anything too complicated with our service. The kitchen staff has been with us for a while, and they know how to handle the busy weekends when tourists show up. During the week, it’s mostly just locals or people staying at the hotel. We spend a lot of time looking out at the trees. It’s a nice spot to work. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It's just us in this old house, making sure everything is ready for whoever walks through the door. Sometimes the fog rolls in so thick you can’t see the road, but we stay open anyway. It’s just life up here in the hills. We do our best to make it a decent place to spend an hour. It’s mostly about serving a good plate of food and making sure the fire is going when it gets cold.
