N M Kembi

N M Kembi is just a small place in the APMC Yard in Davanagere. We see a lot of people every day, mostly farmers and some transporters coming through the gates. We spend our time checking bags and talking to people who come by. It’s not fancy, just concrete floors and some old desks. The heat in Davanagere gets pretty bad in the summer, so we have some old fans that barely work. My father started this years ago, and I remember coming here after school to help out. Now I’m the one dealing with the paperwork and the laborers. We don't have a big office or anything, just enough room to get the job done. Sometimes the trucks are late, which messes everything up, but that’s just how it goes in the yard. We drink a lot of tea from the stall across the road to keep us going when there’s a lot of loading to do. People know us here by name, not just by some logo. We try to keep things moving. It's a lot of dust and noise, but it's our life. You can find us at 9-65 if you ever walk through the market. We don't really do much advertising, word of mouth works fine for what we do. It’s just honest work, day in and day out, making sure things are sorted and sent out. We aren't looking for fame, just a good day’s work.
