Kiddies Education Center

Over in Sharavathi Nagar in Shimoga, we have the Kiddies Education Center. It’s a place for the little ones to start their schooling. The building is colorful, though the sun has faded the paint on the outside walls a bit. We are right in the heart of the neighborhood, so it’s very convenient for the local families. The rooms are filled with small chairs and tables that are just the right size for children. It’s never quiet here. You can hear singing, crying, or laughing at almost any time of the day. I handle the front desk and keep track of who is coming and going. We have a small outdoor area where the kids can play, but it’s mostly just a few swings and a slide. Sharavathi Nagar is a nice area, and we get a lot of kids from the nearby houses. Parents often drop by just to check on their toddlers or to bring a forgotten water bottle. We don't have a big corporate structure. It’s just us teachers and the helpers making sure the kids are safe and learning their ABCs. The floors are often covered in crayons or stray toys by the end of the day. We spend the evenings tidying up for the next morning. It’s a lot of work, but seeing the kids grow up is worth the mess. It's a simple, local place for the neighborhood children to grow.
