Swarup Bricks

Swarup Bricks is located right in Dapodi Village, which is in the Daund Taluka area. If you know where the Kedgaon Toll is, then we aren't hard to find at all. We spend most of our days out here in the sun, working with the red earth to get these bricks made. It is not an easy job and your hands get pretty dirty by the end of the shift. The kiln stays hot pretty much all the time when we are in full production. We don't have any fancy machines doing everything for us; it is mostly just us and a few guys from around the village putting in the hours. When the rain starts, things slow down because you can't dry bricks in the wet. We just wait it out and start again when the ground dries up. It’s a basic business. People come by with their tractors or small trucks to pick up what they need for their house projects or some wall they are building. We are just past the toll plaza, so the trucks find us easily enough. We have been in this spot for a bit now and seen the village change. There's more traffic on the road these days. We just keep stacking the bricks and keeping the fire going. It's honest work. Nothing special about the office, just a small place to sit and do the paperwork.
