At Powerlinks Transmission Limited, we work out of Flat No 11 B 4 in Phase 2 of Himalayakanya Abasan. This is out on Eastern Bypass Road, right around the 2.5 Mile marker on Sevok Road in Siliguri. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the center of town, but the area is growing. We’ve got a view of the hills on clear days, which is nice when the work gets stressful. The address is 734008 if you’re sending us anything by post. The office is inside a residential complex, so it feels more relaxed than a downtown skyscraper. We share the space with our equipment and a few desks. It gets a bit dusty with the road construction nearby, but we keep the fans going. We aren't here to impress anyone with a lobby or free coffee. We just do the transmission work and keep track of the lines. The staff here is local, mostly people who have lived in West Bengal their whole lives. We talk about the weather and the traffic on Sevok Road quite a bit. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big corporate handbook on how to talk to people; we just talk like normal folks. It’s just us in Siliguri, making sure the job gets finished properly every single day without any unnecessary drama or fancy talk.
