If you look for the PCM Tower on Sevoke Road, you’ll find us easily. It’s a busy stretch in Siliguri, especially with all the trucks and traffic heading towards the hills. Rakesh Sharma handles things here on the second floor. It gets pretty loud outside with the horns honking, but inside we’re just focused on the cement business. The office has that heavy feel you get with industrial companies. We have desks piled up with ledgers and site reports. It’s not the most modern looking place, but it works for what we do. Siliguri weather can be a bit of a pain, especially during the monsoons when everything gets damp, but the concrete work doesn’t stop. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating with people. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is quite a workout. The guys here have been together for a long time, so we don't need much instruction anymore. We just know the routine. Most days involve checking on shipments and making sure the billing is somewhat on track. It’s just a bunch of us trying to keep things moving in this busy part of West Bengal. We don’t use any fancy apps to manage things, just old-fashioned notebooks and a couple of computers that have seen better days. It’s a straightforward life here on Sevoke Road. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
