Yakthung

Yakthung is based in Siliguri, specifically in the Shantipur area of Shivmandir. We are located at the address of Ratin Dutta, near the New Rangia post office. Being in West Bengal, especially this close to the hills, the weather changes quite a bit. Our space is modest and fits right into the local neighborhood. It’s a quiet spot, away from the main traffic of the city. We have a few rooms dedicated to our daily operations. It’s the kind of place where you have to take your shoes off at the door because we like to keep the floors clean. There’s always a bit of paperwork lying around, and the shelves are filled with books and files we’ve gathered over the years. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering phones to cleaning the desks. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the local stall down the road. The atmosphere is very casual. We know the postman by name, and he knows exactly where to leave our mail. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment. We take things at a steady pace and make sure the details are right. Living and working here in Siliguri feels right for us. The view of the mountains on a clear day is a nice bonus, though we spend most of our time looking at our screens or talking to visitors. It’s a simple, honest setup where we just handle our business without any extra fluff.
