Sanchai Agro Nidhi Limited is situated in Kadamtala, which is under the Matigara police station area in Darjeeling. We are located near the Durgamandir, specifically at Sharmistha Darji’s place. It’s a busy little neighborhood. We focus on the agro-nidhi side of things, which means we work a lot with local people on small financial matters related to agriculture. We aren't a big bank with marble floors and security guards in every corner. Our office is a modest place where neighbors come in to talk about their savings or small loans for their farms. Being in the 734011 area, we see a lot of people who are just trying to get by. Sharmistha and the rest of the team spend time looking over papers and explaining how these things work to folks who might not be used to formal offices. It is a lot of sitting and talking over tea. The weather in Darjeeling can be quite damp, so we spend a lot of time making sure the documents stay dry and the office stays warm. We don't have a marketing department to write pretty things about us. We are just local residents who saw a need for this kind of service in our community. It’s practical, it’s local, and it helps the people we see every day at the market.
