Our warehouse and office are located in the Magturan Compound on Dr Kalinath Road. Siliguri is a major hub, so being in Khalpara means we are right in the thick of the trade routes. United Corporation has been operating from this spot for quite a while. It is a bit dusty, and there is always a truck being loaded or unloaded nearby. We handle a lot of different goods, so the inventory is always changing. The office inside the compound is simple, just some desks and shelves full of ledgers. It gets hot in the summer, and the fans never seem to move fast enough. We do not have any fancy marketing teams; we just talk to our suppliers and customers directly. Most of the people working here have been with the company for a long time, so we know how each other works. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved and a lot of counting items to make sure nothing is missing. The roads around here can be a mess when it rains, but we still manage to get things moved. It is not the kind of job you do if you want to stay perfectly clean all day. We just focus on getting the crates moved and the invoices signed. It is a basic business, and we like the honesty of it. The compound has a lot of history and we are just another part of it.
