We've been at Yanki Villa for a while now, right at 11th Mile in Kalimpong. If you know the area, we're just across from the Sakya Center. It’s a busy spot but we like it here. Most days we are just busy sorting out vehicles or talking to people about where they want to go in the mountains. We grew up around these hills so we know the roads pretty well. Sometimes the weather gets a bit messy and we have to change plans last minute, but that's just how it is with trekking and tours around here. We don’t really have a big office, just this space where we keep our maps and gear. People usually drop by after seeing the sign near the road. It’s not a fancy setup. We just try to make sure the cars are ready and the guides know the routes. My cousin helps out with the bookings when he isn't busy. We mostly deal with local treks and some longer tours if the groups are small enough. It gets cold in the winters but we stay open anyway. If you are looking for us, look for the Sakya Center and then just look across the street. We are usually around during the day. Sometimes we're all out on a trip so the door might be locked for a few hours. That’s just part of the job. We keep the phone on us though. It’s mostly just hard work and hoping the rain holds off for the groups. We've been doing this for a long time and don't plan on moving anytime soon.
