J. P. & Co.

Based over in Champasari in the Darjeeling district, J. P. & Co. has been around for a bit. The weather up here can be unpredictable, which makes this kind of work a little tricky sometimes. We deal with building materials, and the dampness from the hills means we have to be extra careful with how we store things so they don't get damaged. Our place isn't anything special to look at. It's mostly just a warehouse and some outdoor space where we keep the heavier items. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that because word of mouth usually does the job for us. People in Champasari know who we are. We have a small team, and we all wear many hats—one minute you’re on the phone, the next you’re helping someone load their truck. It can be a bit chaotic when three customers show up at once, but we manage to get through it. We aren't trying to be the biggest supplier in the district, just a place where you can get what you need without a lot of fuss. We've seen a lot of changes in the area over the years, but our way of doing things hasn't changed much. We just show up, do the work, and go home.
