I School

You can find I School on the ground floor of a building along Iskcon Mandir Road in Siliguri. It’s a very specific spot, right in the middle of a lively part of the city. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for parents to drop off their little ones without having to climb many stairs. Siliguri is a place that gets a lot of rain, so we are always making sure the entrance stays dry and clean. The address is 734004. Because we are near the Iskcon Mandir, the surroundings have a certain rhythm to them. There are often people walking by and a lot of local shops around us. Inside, the rooms are painted in bright colors to make it look cheerful for the children. It’s not a huge place, but we’ve managed to fit in everything we need for a school. We have a small area for play and several rooms for the different age groups. The noise from the road sometimes filters in, but we’re used to it. It’s just part of being in Siliguri. The teachers here are very hands-on. They spend most of their time on the floor with the kids or sitting at the small tables. It’s a very practical, everyday kind of place. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a school in a busy neighborhood doing its job. We’ve been here for a while and most of the locals know us by now.
