Baban Saloon

Baban Saloon sits right on Hillcut Road in the Mallaguri area of Siliguri. Our address is Mallaguri, Siliguri 734003, right in the heart of the Darjeeling district. Being on such a main road means there’s always something happening outside. We see the buses and taxis go by all day long. The saloon itself is pretty straightforward. We have the usual chairs, some sharp razors, and plenty of spray bottles. Most people come in for a quick trim or a shave before they head to work or after they finish their shift. We don't do anything fancy like the big parlors in the malls. We just provide a place for a decent haircut and we charge what we charge. The walls have some old posters on them, and the mirrors have seen better days, but they show you what you need to see. Our customers are mostly guys from around Mallaguri who want a familiar face doing their hair. Sometimes it gets crowded on Sundays, and people have to wait on the stools near the door. We try to keep things moving so nobody is stuck there for too long. It’s a simple business, really. Just keeping the blades sharp and the towels clean. We enjoy the talk that happens in the shop, people sharing stories about their families or the local traffic. It makes the day go by faster and the shop feels like a part of the road.
