A. K. Food Products

Our little factory is tucked away on Tower Road, right near that big Airtel tower everyone uses as a landmark. Being out here in Kadamtala, near Matigara, means we get a bit of that Darjeeling air, though it’s mostly just a busy work day for us. A. K. Food Products isn't a massive operation with hundreds of people. It’s just a group of us who know how to handle the food side of things. We spend most of our time in the back where the actual production happens. The floors are always being cleaned and there is always a smell of something being processed in the air. It’s a practical space, built for work, not for showing off to guests. We get our supplies delivered early in the morning, often before the sun is even fully up over the hills. Most of the people working here have been with us since we first set up shop near the police station area. We don’t bother with much marketing because the locals know who we are. If you’re heading down Tower Road, you can’t really miss the turn-off. It’s a dusty path sometimes, but it gets us where we need to be. We just focus on making sure every batch that goes out is decent. No one here wears a suit, just work clothes and a bit of grit. It’s honest work in a quiet part of the district and we like it.
