Dang Ahwa Farmer Producer Company Limited

Out here in the Dang district, life is very different from the cities. Our company is based in Jamalpada village, which is part of the Rambhash post office area in Ahwa. We use Mohanbhai Malubhai Gavit’s place as our headquarters. In Ahwa, we are surrounded by hills and forests, and farming is what keeps us all going. We decided to form this producer company because it’s hard for one person to do everything alone. When we work together, we can share the load. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here sometimes, but this is our home. We meet up at Mohanbhai’s and sit on plastic chairs to talk about the rice or the millets we’re growing. There aren't any big signs or fancy offices. It’s just a house in the village where we keep our papers and talk. We don’t really follow a strict schedule. If someone has a problem, they just walk over and we talk about it. We’re all learning as we go along. Being a farmer producer company in such a remote area has its own set of problems, like getting transport and dealing with the rough roads. But we don’t mind the hard work. We are proud of where we come from and we just want to make sure the farmers in Dang get a fair deal for the hard work they put into the earth.
