If you head out to Balakot in the Damoh district, you’ll find us at number 77. Damoh Agro Producer Company Limited is basically just a group of us from the local area. We started this because we needed a better way to manage our crops and get things to the market. Balakot is a small place, so everybody knows everyone else’s business anyway. We don't have a big flashy sign or a reception desk. Usually, you’ll find one or two of us sitting with a ledger trying to keep the accounts straight. The weather around here can be tough on the crops, so we talk about that a lot. Most of our day is spent dealing with the practical side of farming, like where to get seeds that will actually grow or how to fix a broken tool. We aren’t experts in business, we are just people who grew up working the land. We help each other out with the transport because the roads can be a bit of a mess after the rain. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we know. We make sure the farmers get paid and that the supplies are shared out fairly among the group. It is just a simple operation run by people who live right here in the Tehsil. We don't have much use for big words or complicated plans, we just take it one day at a time and hope the harvest is good. There’s always someone stopping by with a question about their land or taxes.
