Yenepoya Medical College Hospital

Our hospital is part of the medical college over in derelakate. It’s a huge place, Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, so it’s hard to miss if you’re in the area. Because it’s a teaching hospital, there are always students in white coats running around with books or stethoscopes. It can feel a bit chaotic at times, especially in the mornings when the shifts change. The building is sprawling with lots of wings and departments. You can get lost if you don't pay attention to the signs. The air is often filled with the smell of floor cleaner and cafeteria food. It’s a busy environment. We have huge waiting halls that are almost always full of people from all over the region. It’s not a quiet place, but it feels alive. We have all the big machines and specialized rooms, but at the end of the day, it’s just a place where people come to get better. The staff is always moving, pushing carts or checking charts. We don't have time for a lot of fluff or corporate talk. It’s about getting through the day and helping the patients. Derelakate is a bit of a drive from the main city, but people make the trip because of how much we have going on here. It’s a big institution, but we try to keep things grounded as much as we can. We are just a group of people working together in a big building.
