Down in the Kolnad Industrial Area in Mulki, things move at a certain pace. We are at unit number 14, and if you’ve ever been to this part of Mulki, you know it’s mostly just warehouses and workshops. It’s a bit out of the way, but that works for what we do at Hydromech Engg. Services. The air always smells a bit like oil and metal, which I guess is standard for an engineering shop. We spend most of our time out on the floor dealing with machines and parts. It isn't a clean job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We don’t have a fancy front desk or a receptionist greeting people. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us working on something. The tools are scattered where they’re needed most, and the floor is stained from years of work. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy out here and makes a lot of noise on the roof, so we have to talk a bit louder to be heard. We keep the doors open mostly to let the breeze in when the heat picks up. It's a practical place. We don't spend money on shiny signs or matching uniforms because that’s not what matters to the people we work with. They just want their stuff fixed or built right. We've been in this spot long enough that the neighbors all know us by name now. It’s just us doing what we do every day.
