Pophadi Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is run from the Datala 2 Center in Motala. We work out of the space provided by Ramrao Aabarao Deshmukh. It’s a small, local operation in Pophle that focuses on the agro needs of our village. We aren't a big company with a lot of rules and departments. It’s mostly just a few of us who know each other well. The office is a bit messy with grain samples and old ledgers scattered around. We spend a lot of time on our feet, weighing bags and checking the quality of what comes in. Motala is the kind of place where you have to work hard to get by. We don't have a team of marketing people or any shiny advertisements. We just rely on the fact that we’ve lived here our whole lives. People know where to find us if they have a problem or if they want to sell their crops. We’ve had to deal with all sorts of issues like bad seeds or equipment breaking down at the worst time. It’s not a perfect business, and we are still learning how to manage the technical side of things. But we are honest with each other and we do our best. That’s really all there is to it. We aren't trying to impress anyone, just keeping the farm business alive.
