Our business, Raysheen Minerals, is situated out in Chikodra, right on the Godhra Baroda Highway Road. Being on the highway is actually very convenient for us because we have big trucks coming and going all the time to drop off raw materials or pick up finished loads. Godhra is where we are based, and the climate here can be pretty tough, especially when you are working with minerals all day in the heat. We’ve got a fairly large yard where we keep the bulk of the stock, and it’s usually quite a busy scene with the loaders moving things around. The office is just a small room off to the side where we keep the logs and the weight records. We don't really have a marketing department or anything like that; we just rely on the fact that we've been here a long time and people in the trade know where to find us. It’s a gritty job, and you definitely won’t leave here with clean clothes at the end of the day. We process various types of minerals that come from the local mines and get them ready for industrial use. It’s the kind of work that requires a lot of patience and physical effort. We just focus on keeping the equipment running and making sure the loads are weighed correctly before they head out on the highway. It’s a straightforward way to make a living in this part of Gujarat.
