Sandeepani Play School

We’ve been here on Bajrakabati Road in Cuttack for a while now. It’s a busy street but once you step inside our gate, things get a bit quieter. This play school started because there was a clear need for a place where local kids could just be kids before heading off to bigger schools. Our building isn't fancy, but it stays clean and we try to keep it bright for the little ones. Most mornings begin with a bit of a rush as parents drop off their children near the main road. Much of our day is spent supervising games and making sure everyone gets their snacks on time. The teachers here are mostly from around the neighborhood, which means we know many of the families personally. Sometimes the kids get rowdy, but that’s just part of dealing with toddlers. Toys in the corner have been around for years, and some books have seen better days, yet the children don’t seem to mind at all. A simple routine of play, learning the alphabet, and nap time keeps us on track. It’s a straightforward setup without big fancy computers or high-tech equipment. Having a decent space for the kids to run around is what matters most. The heat in Cuttack gets tough in the afternoons, so the fans are always running. It is just us doing our daily work and keeping the children safe until parents come back at noon. We like it that way.
