Foode Foods

Down here on Mission Road in Buxibazar, life is pretty constant. Cuttack is an old city, and 753014 has that feeling to it. Foode Foods is our place. It’s not a massive building or anything. We just have our space where we prepare everything. The street outside is narrow and usually crowded with cycles and rickshaws. We hear the bells and horns all day long. We start work when the sun is just coming up. There’s a lot of chopping and prepping to do before anyone arrives. We don’t have a flashy menu or anything. It’s just what we know how to make. The walls are a plain color and we have some basic lights. Most people who come here are from the nearby shops or houses. We’ve lived in Cuttack for a long time, so we know the local rhythm. Sometimes the drains on Mission Road get blocked and it’s a whole situation. We just deal with it. It’s about being present every day. We don't spend money on ads. People find us because they are walking by or someone told them we were here. We keep the water jars filled and the floors swept. It’s hard work, standing on your feet for ten hours. But that’s what running a food place in Buxibazar looks like for us. We just keep going. Even when it’s raining hard and the street floods, we try to stay open for the people who need a meal. It’s just a simple, honest business.
