Anchalika Yuba Parishad

Anchalika Yuba Parishad is based in Laxminarayanhat. Our mail goes to the post office in Sankheswar. We are in the Tirtol area of Jagatsinghpur district in Orissa. It's a local community. We are just a bunch of people working together. The office is simple. We have a few rooms. It's not a glass building. It's just a local spot. People come by Laxminarayanhat and they see us. We do things for the local youth. It's what we do. We don't have a big website or a social media team. We just talk to people. Most of our work is done right here. Sometimes we have to travel around the district. Jagatsinghpur is a nice place. Tirtol is where we spend most of our time though. We know the postman. We know the shopkeepers nearby. It’s a very grounded way of working. We don't use big words or have long meetings about strategy. We just decide what needs to be done and we do it. The desks are a bit old and the chairs creak but it works for us. We've been here for a while and we plan to stay. It feels right to be part of the village life here. If you come through Laxminarayanhat, you'll probably run into one of us sooner or later. We just try to be useful in the community where we live and work alongside our friends.
