Sri Annamalaiyar Super Market

If you walk down Gandhi Road, you will find us at number 632. Sri Annamalaiyar Super Market has been in this spot for a bit. It’s a decent sized place for the neighborhood. We have rows and rows of stuff on the wooden shelves. It is mostly just things people need for their daily cooking and their homes. Gandhi Road always has a lot of people walking by and cars honking. We keep the front doors open most of the day to let some air inside. The floor is made of tile and we mop it every morning but it gets footprints pretty quickly. We spend a lot of time checking the labels and making sure things are where they belong on the racks. It is just a neighborhood shop really. We aren't trying to be anything huge or corporate. Some of us have been working here since we first opened up. We know most of the neighbors by name. We talk about the weather or the local news while we are working behind the counter. The lights inside are a bit bright and sometimes a bulb flickers. Then we have to get the old ladder out to fix it, which is a chore. We keep a small desk near the front for the account books. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us making sure things run okay. It’s a steady job at 632 Gandhi Road. We just keep the shelves stocked.
