Selvam Store

My family has been running Selvam Store for quite a long time now. We are located right at 9, Kattiankuppam, which is very close to Kullanchavadi. People around this area know where we are, so we don't need a big sign. It’s just a small place but we keep it stocked with what our neighbors usually need for their kitchens. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the traffic on the road outside, but we try to keep things tidy for whoever walks in. I usually open up the shutters early in the morning, around seven. If you’re coming from the main road, you won't miss us if you look for the blue door. It’s mostly just me or my brother behind the counter. We don't have fancy glass shelves or anything modern like that. Just the basic wooden ones my uncle built. We’ve known most of the families around here for generations. It’s nice to see the same faces every day and ask how their kids are doing. We carry rice, different kinds of grains, some soaps, and the regular household things. If we don’t have something specific, we try to get it by the next week when the supply truck comes by. Life in Kattiankuppam is mostly quiet, and this store is just a small part of that daily routine. We don't have a website, people just walk in and talk. The building is simple, but it has been here through many seasons.
