NIMI HOUSING AND PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT PRIVATE LIMITED is situated at NO-95 on Middle Street in KO Chathiram, Cuddalore. This is a very local spot and everyone around here knows each other. Our office is right on the street, so we see people passing by all day long. Cuddalore is a place where things don’t always move as fast as the big cities, and we’re fine with that. Most of our work involves checking on small housing sites and making sure the labor is showing up on time. We use a lot of local materials from the suppliers around Middle Street because it saves on transport. The office itself is quite simple, with some old furniture and stacks of files that need sorting. We don’t really do the whole corporate thing; we’re more likely to be found in our work shirts talking to a mason about the brickwork. There’s always some noise from the street, and it gets quite dusty when the wind picks up. We spend a lot of time on the ground, literally. We’re checking foundations or looking at walls to make sure they are straight. It’s a lot of physical work and managing people’s expectations. We’ve been part of this community for a bit now, and we just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not always easy, especially with the weather here, but we stay busy.
