Our place is in Sitalkuchi, which falls under the Dinhata area. It’s a village post, so it’s not exactly a bustling city center. We like it that way because it’s a bit more peaceful and we know everyone around here. We’ve been trading here for quite a while now. Our shop is simple and doesn't have any of those modern decorations you see in the bigger towns. We just have enough room for our inventory and a couple of chairs for when people want to stop and talk for a bit. In a place like Sitalkuchi, you get to know everyone, and they get to know you. Most of our business comes from the people who live nearby. We don't do any real advertising. If we have something people need, they usually hear about it from a neighbor and come by to check it out. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, especially during the rainy season when the roads get difficult to travel on. We just take it easy during those times. We aren't trying to become some massive enterprise. We just want to keep the trading going and provide what the local community needs. It’s honest, steady work that keeps us busy throughout the year. We start in the morning and close up once the sun goes down. It’s a quiet life, but it suits us just fine. We just do our bit and keep things moving every day.
