Wipro Technologies has its office at number 43 in the Co-Operative Colony. This is in the Uppilipalayam area of Coimbatore, 641015. It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood for an office, which is actually quite helpful when we need to concentrate. The building is older and has that solid feel to it. We don’t have any of that flashy glass and steel you see in the new IT parks. Instead, we have windows that actually open and let in a bit of a breeze. Inside, the furniture is functional and nothing more. We have our computers and some printers that sometimes get jammed. The staff here is mostly local, so the talk in the office is usually in Tamil and English mixed together. We don’t have a big corporate culture with team-building retreats or anything like that. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and go home. There is a small tea stall just around the corner where we usually end up during our breaks. The street outside is mostly residential, so there isn’t too much noise from trucks or buses. It’s a very grounded place to work. We don't have any posters with motivational quotes on the walls. We just know what our jobs are and we do them as best as we can. It's a simple life here and we're quite content with the way things are set up.
