New Life Medical Engineering

If you head down Veerakeralam Road, you’ll find us at Mottaya Gounder Thottam in the Vadavalli area. It’s a bit of a greener spot, being a 'thottam' or garden land originally, though there are more buildings now than there used to be. New Life Medical Engineering is based out of a plain building there. We work on medical equipment, which means a lot of our time is spent with tools and small electronic parts spread out over our workbenches. It’s quiet work mostly, requiring a lot of focus to get things back in working order. The road outside can get a bit busy during the school hours, but otherwise, it’s a peaceful enough place to spend the day. We have a lot of spare parts stored in old wooden cabinets and plastic bins. The air smells a bit like solder and cleaning fluid most of the time. We don't really have a secretary or anything like that; usually, one of us just wipes our hands and answers the door when someone knocks. It’s a small operation, just a few of us who know how to fix these machines. We’ve been in Vadavalli for quite a while, so we’re used to the way the shadows move across the workshop floor as the day goes by. We don’t do any big advertising, people just hear about us through word of mouth and find their way to Veerakeralam Road. We stay here until the work is finished.
