The Dental Bay

You can find us over at No 21/2 on 6th Street in Saibaba Colony. It’s a quiet enough street for the most part, though things can get a bit busy during the lunch hour. We’ve been here in this part of Tamil Nadu for a while now, and we’ve gotten to know a lot of the families who live around the corner. The clinic isn’t very big, just a couple of chairs and a small waiting area that usually has a few old magazines scattered on the table. We try to keep things organized, but on a busy day, there’s usually a bit of a wait. We spend our time doing the usual stuff—cleanings, fillings, and talking to people about their teeth. It’s not the most glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The floor is that old-style tile that’s easy to mop, which is good because we’re constantly cleaning up. We don’t have a big front-of-house team. Usually, it’s just one of us handling the phone and the appointments while the other is working with a patient. We’ve got a small window in the back that looks out over the street, and sometimes we just watch the traffic go by while we’re waiting for the next person to show up. It’s a simple, local practice. We don’t do any of those fancy advertisements you see in the city. People just know we’re here on 6th Street when they need something fixed.
