Sree Abirami Hospital

Sree Abirami Hospital is located on Madukkarai Road in the Sundarapuram area. It is a pretty busy part of town with a lot of shops and people moving about constantly. The building itself is easy to spot once you get onto the main stretch of Sundarapuram. Inside, we have a reception area that stays busy with people asking for directions or trying to settle their bills. The chairs are mostly plastic and we try to keep them lined up in rows, but they always end up scattered by noon. We have a few different wards and the nurses are usually moving fast between them to keep up with everything. It is a local place, so a lot of the patients are people we see around the neighborhood at the market or the bus stop. We do not have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some framed notices and the occasional calendar. The windows look out onto the street, so you can see the buses going by all day. Sometimes the fans make a bit of a rattling noise, but they keep the air moving which is the main thing we care about. We keep a large water cooler in the corner for everyone to use. Our days are filled with the usual stuff like updating charts and talking to families about their relatives. It is just regular hospital work in a local neighborhood. We have been here for a good while and the routine is familiar.
