Our place is over at No. 4 in Veerapandi Village, right in the Press Colony area. We work on roofing systems, which means we spend a lot of time looking at metal sheets and frames. It is a bit quieter out here than in the middle of the city, which is nice for getting work done. The shop is basically a large shed where we keep the materials. When the rain starts hitting the roof here, you can really hear it, which is funny considering what we do. We mostly deal with people who need to cover a warehouse or maybe a small workshop. It isn't a high-tech operation. We have our tools and our hands and the trucks that come to pick up the orders. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when we have a big project going on, but we always find what we need eventually. The guys who work here have been doing this for years, so they know how the metal behaves. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. People usually find us because they saw our work somewhere or someone told them about us in Veerapandi. We just want to make sure the roofs stay up and keep the water out. That is the whole point of it. We take our breaks when we can and start early before it gets too hot in the village. It’s just a normal day at the shop for us.
