Senthur Exports

Our place is based over by the Suguna petrol pump. It is near the Kalyanamandapam, so there is usually a lot of traffic and people around us. The area is mostly industrial because of the Senthil Kumar Mills nearby. We do export work, mostly textiles and things that local mills produce. Our building is number 45. It’s a plain brick place with a heavy door, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, there is always the smell of raw fabric and maybe some dust coming in from the street. We spend most of our mornings checking the quality of what comes in before it goes back out to the docks. It’s a lot of standing and looking closely at threads and dyes. Some days are very long, especially when we have a big container to fill by a certain deadline. We have a few old wooden desks and some benches for the workers to sit on during their lunch breaks. We usually get our food from the small stall just down the road. It isn't a fancy setup by any means, just a regular workspace. We've known the people at the mills for years, so it feels like a small community here. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we have to just wait it out. That's just how it goes in this part of town. We don't spend money on advertising. We just do the work and send things where they need to go.
